Welcome to our website and Winstars Soccer Academy.  It all started in the early 90's when I was just finishing up my enjoyable time with the Wexford Team I had coached and who had Won the Canadian National Championship. I was assisted by my good friend Jim Handsor and at the same time, Charlie Sciberras had just finished coaching  his successful Oakville Team along with Coaching the Prestigious National Soccer League Selects (NSL) All Star Teams.

We both decided to Coach a Youth Team and call it Winstars and developed a philosophy of preparing serious young Athletes for a Great Future of obtaining an Athletic Scholarship in the USA. We were concerned with not only the Soccer Side of things but also the academic importance. Together we built and developed some of the very best youth teams in Canada.

Numerous players from our program have excelled and went on to obtain Full Athletic Scholarships at NCAA Division 1 Universities and also a lot of them went on to compete very successfully at the Professional level both indoor and outdoor. We told the Players that if they followed the Program and worked hard both in the classroom and on the field, they would earn everything they receive. We were concerned with not only making good players, but also more important, better people.

We found that all of our Players wanted to become Professional Soccer Players, and we encouraged them to obtain an education and at the same time play NCAA Division 1 College Soccer. They could then try to reach for their dream, and still have the all important education behind them even if they don’t become Pro Players. They could still have the security of having a degree that would ensure them a bright future.

 We are respected highly by our peers in youth soccer environments in Canada and the USA. By continually placing our own personal self-interest, secondary to the well being of our players, we have been able to assist many young soccer players and athletes in procuring Athletic Scholarships south of the border. Without question we have been able to nurture some of the best youth players in the Country. We exemplify high standards and look to continue our path to help many more young aspiring players, and GIVE THEM A REASON TO BELIEVE and Dream of getting an Athletic Scholarship or becoming a Professional Soccer Player.

Again, I would like to take this time to welcome interested players and families to have a look at our website and be part of a Special Academy with a proven track record, and also to thank players, family, and alumni for being part of our programs over the years. We had a wonderful time and were truly blessed with some Great Memories we will hold close to us for the rest of our Lives.
